What It Is TB-500 is a synthetic peptide analogue of the central functional region (amino acids 17–23) of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), a naturally occurring 43-amino acid actin-sequestering protein found at high concentrations in platelets, macrophages, and wound fluid. The active TB-500 fragment — LKKTETQ — is the region responsible for the majority of Thymosin Beta-4's regenerative activity. TB-500 functions primarily by binding G-actin monomers, thereby regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, promoting cell migration, and accelerating tissue repair. It upregulates VEGF and other angiogenic factors, activates integrin-linked kinase (ILK), and promotes the differentiation of stem cells into endothelial cells.
